She helps out with the invitations. She oversees the bridesmaids. She makes sure that everything is in order and all of them look good on the D day. The maid of honor organizes the wedding shower and the bachelorette party. In fact, she is the one who signs the marriage license after the wedding. She is the one who raises the toast to the couple and gives a speech on the wedding day. In short, the success of the wedding is highly dependent on the maid of honor.
