Real Life Proposals

Melissa B.: Spent all day at our favorite place, Disneyland. At night when the Sleeping Beauty Castle was lit, he proposed to me surrounded by family and park-goers and it was perfect! One of my favorite memories is noticing his hand fidgeting in mine as we approached the castle. I loved finding out that it was because he was about to propose!

Steve M.: I asked Kim to marry me via an Easter egg hunt. She had to spell out will you marry me and the ring was in a big plastic gold egg.
Ashley K.Zach proposed to me in the evening at home in our pajamas. We had just watched a show, and he left the room, came back, and said he was happiest at home with me and the cats. Then, as formal as you can be wearing pajamas, he got on one knee and proposed. I said yes and he put my ring on. Then he nearly passed out from being too overwhelmed lol. He's sweet.
Christine M.We had just moved into our first apartment as a couple (we lived with 4-5 roommates prior). It was late, and we both had a long day at work. We were hanging out in our little kitchen, and I was sitting on the counter. We were surrounded by stacks of boxes waiting to be unpacked. However, we just wanted to have a drink, hang out, laugh together, and just soak in the newness of our place. That’s when he proposed. It was so simple, but it was genuine and beautiful. It wasn’t over the top, but it was us. Apparently he was holding onto the ring for a while and was waiting for “the moment”. He couldn’t have had better timing.

Proposal at Sunset Cliffs Weddings by Lex
Cameo My husband waited until 1 am to write a huge complex math equation on the chalkboard at our study lounge in college and then asked me to help him solve it. I said no which led to an argument that ended with him writing the answer to the problem, which was "will you marry me?" and him throwing the ring at me and storming out. I quickly followed after him and asked him if we could start over. After he helped me solve the math equation and I said yes, we went and got slurpees to celebrate.
Mike M.: Made her dinner at her place before she got home. Had the first clue for a scavenger hunt under her plate. When she was done eating I removed her plate and the hunt began. I wrote all the clues. The last clue said, “I hate it when there’s rocks in my shoe!” It led her to her closet where I had planted her ring in one of her shoes. When she came out of her closet I was on a knee and asked for her hand in marriage. This June will be 23 years! 😍😍
Jill S.:  I came back to my hometown to cheer my high school homecoming game the October after graduating (I was a cheerleader in high school and alumni are invited to cheer at homecoming every year). During half time, my boyfriend came down and asked me to introduce him to the coach. So we walk over and he shakes his hand and the coach asks him, “are you ready?” My boyfriend says yes... And I say ready for what? Then the coach asks for everyone’s attention at the sideline and Jason drops to a knee and proposes in front of a full football stadium! We have been married 19 years!

Who knows the secret?

Courtney H.: Tyler took me on a nice date and then when we came back to my parents house he took me to the room/spot where we had talked about getting married. He had the ring in his pocket and got down in one knee and said a bunch of nice things and proposed to me. I think that how it went. It was late.... Ha ha
Jessica P.: Deric took me to a park in Idaho next to a river where my sister and Andrew set up a computer and rose petals. When we got to the bench, Deric sat me down and played a slideshow video full of pictures of us to Beautiful Soul (cheesy I know but I loved it!). He then took me to where the rose petals where arranged in a heart and knelt down! Got it all on video too.
Travis S.: Proposed at Anime Expo while she was in cosplay! And on July 4th! Lol!  Stephanie F.:  My husband took me to one of our church's temples. We spent the day inside and then we walked around the gardens outside. We sat down on a bench and we were just talking. Well sort of. I had a feeling he was about to propose and so we were both kind of nervous. I was wearing a promise ring he had given me in high school and he started playing with it and took it off. He swapped it with my engagement ring and slipped it on my finger and went down on one knee. This is where it gets kind of fuzzy because I literally cannot remember him saying "will you marry me" or me saying "yes" but I know it happened. It is kind of funny how sometimes that moment you have been day dreaming ends up being a blur of just pure happiness.

How do you want to propose?

Christin R.: Ooohhhh I have a real good one! Including missing 2 flights, my grandma nearly missing the whole thing, a male dog with a bow, and disguised birthday surprise for my mom she actually knew about to try and surprise me (it worked) and me not seeing the ring for nearly 6 mins.
Daryl K.: Mike came over to my house and we were trying to decide what to do for the day. I had my back turned to him looking something up on the computer and he says, "I know what we can do". I turned around and he's down on one knee and says, "We can get married! Will you marry me?!" He later told me he had wanted to propose at the beach where we spent our first date, but earlier that day he had picked up my ring and just couldn't wait any longer!! It was So sweet! He could have proposed in Taco Bell for all I care!! ♥️
Stephanie S.: It was a Saturday and I had to work some overtime. He was anxious for me to get to his parents house and kept calling to see where I was. He wanted to have a picnic lunch in the park. When I got there we drove over to a park. He took me to a beautiful spot that overlooked the town and an orange grove. Then, he had some pomegranate seeds and began relying the story of Hades and Persephone. He told me that he wanted me to be with him forever and asked me to marry him

The big secret?

The how doesn't matter so much. You know who your proposing. Think about them and how much you love them. Be real. Nothing else matters.
