If you have had your heart set on a traditional bride and groom cake topper or perhaps plan to use the same one your parents used , but you also really like the idea of flowers on your cake don't think you can't do both! You just want to make sure you don't let the flowers over power or otherwise hide your cake topper and you don't want the floral design to be so insignificant that it is like there is nothing there at all. 

Too Big

Sunflowers, Peonies, and Garden Roses are some wedding flower favorites that can look great on a cake, but if you want to have a cake topper too, these would be overbearing and would take away from the cake topper you so carefully picked out. If you find smaller sunflowers, it could work, but they are still a really bold flower choice, so you will have to play with it.

The lily of the valley flower is a great option for a cake with flowers and a cake topper, Like the baby's breath, the flowers are small, but not overly small. This allows for you to have a floral cake design that frames a wedding cake topper without over doing it. Other flowers that can fit this just right category are daisies and lilacs.
